Hello, I have a problem with DNG converter. I downloaded a 10.3 version that should support Raw from Sony A7III, but when I want to upload photos, DNG Converter does not read it. Does anyone know where the problem is? Thanks.

DNG führt zu absturz von Mac "Fotos"
Hallo Adobe Users
Ich habe meine Panasonic RAW Fotos mit dem Adobe DNG konverter in .dng Dateien umgewandelt. Was auch Problemlos geht.

Look Table
the SDK for new lightroom (7.3) mentions that Look Tables can be used as well as LUTs (look up tables). these Look Tables appear to be CSV files and the SDK came with an example. how do I interpret these Look Table files?
*originally posted this question in the Lightroom Classic forum but was suggested that you guys would be able to help*
Adobe DNG converter 10.3
Files converted using this latest version are not recognised by all relevant photo editing software (eg Luminar 2018, DXO Photolab), while older versions are recognised. Why is this? What has happened in version 10.3 that causes this?
dng_validate - Missing or invalid SamplesPerPixel
Hi all,
I'm working on a program to wrap image info into a dng format, but have run into a snag that I cannot find in the documentation. I'll start off with the verbose output of dng_validate:
Uses little-endian byte order
Magic number = 42
IFD 0: Offset = 8, Entries = 20
NewSubFileType: Preview Image

StripOffsets: Offset = 386

StripByteCounts: Count = 4002000

*** Error: Missing or invalid SamplesPerPixel (SubIFD 1) ***
So obviously SamplesPerPixel is present in SubIFD 1, and I've seen plenty of dngs that have LinearRaw with 3 channels. The image won't open in photoshop or in lightroom and I can't find any indication as to what the actual problem is. Help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Convert to DNG in Lightroom CC?
Hello All,
I usually use Lightroom Classic on my desktop computer, but would like to use Lightroom CC on my laptop while traveling. I just tried to import some files to my laptop using Lightroom CC, and I can't figure out how to convert the .ARW files to .DNG, or how to generate smart previews. Is this not possible in lightroom CC? I was hoping to avoid setting up a separate Lightroom Classic catalog on my laptop. It's a 2011 Macbook pro.
Thanks,
Ben
Importing K-1 Mark II PEF files
I just installed the current version of DNG converter onto my Windows OS. It still wont import my files from my new Pentax K-1 Mark II. It shows the memory card and subfolders but when I click on the subfolders it says there are no files there. Does this app not convert these files yet? I want to import my photos into Photoshop Elements 2018 which also doesn't recognize the files.
If I use the DNG converter will it also convert my jpeg files
If I use the DNG converter will it also convert my jpeg files? I have both my jpeg and raw files in same folder!
Compile DNG_SDK fail
I download dng_sdk and compile in VS community 2017.
Some errors like below:
Severity | Code | Description | Project | File | Line | Suppression State |
Error | C2440 | 'initializing': cannot convert from 'dng_std_allocator<dng_noise_function>' to 'dng_std_allocator<_Newfirst>' | c:\program files (x86)\microsoft visual studio\2017\community\vc\tools\msvc\14.11.25503\include\vector | 558 |
I learned from past post = mentioned that template issue.
But I still confuse.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Can't converte my .NEF files to .DNG
Days ago I bought a Nikon D3300 and started shooting in RAW format. I thought that I was going to be avaible to import my photos directly to Lightroom, but it seems like I was wrong. I googled and read some articles and decided to convert my .NEF files to .DNG to import them. I downloaded the latest version of DNG Converter for Mac (DNGConverter_9_6.dmg) but I couldn't select any of my photos. I attached a screenshot where you can see I'm using the DNG Converter and trying to select the photos i want to convert.
Thank you.
dng converter vs dpp
I am getting a Canon 80D which is not supported in CR 9.1.1 (CS6). Hence, my choice is to either use DNG to convert .cr2 to .dng or use DPP to convert from .cr2 to .tif.
In terms of conversion quality and metadata retention which technique is recommended?
Anyone have thoughts or recommended reading?
I have LR 6 but have pretty much starting using CS6 due to its layering capabilities.
Thanks.
Adobe DNG Converter 10.4 Crashes High Sierra 10.13.4 Finder & Does Not Launch

Can I extract image from a DNG?

DNG 10.4 Canon 80D Pink Tint
The result of converting a .cr2 from a Canon 80D results in a .dng image that has a very pink/purple tint when viewed with the Mac Finder. Do not have the same problem if viewed with Bridge 2018 or if the image is converted to a .tif with DPP. I am using the current version of MAC and DNG software. Evidently the embedded .jpg created by DNG causes a problem with the Finder display. Any fixes other than not using DNG?
How to uninstall Adobe DNG Converter
Please forgive me if this has already been asked; I tried searching the forums but couldn't find an answer.
I am on Windows XP SP3 and have installed DNG Converter 5.6.0.148. The installer ran ok but I don't see an uninstall link the Add/Remove Programs.
Is there some official way of uninstalling it?
Thanks
regenerate full-size preview where missing
Now the interesting question is to replace the original DNG with the same but only the full-size JPEG preview regenerated. How can one do it with the Adobe DNG converter, preserving all the keywords and other metadata? Furthermore, how can it be done so the Lightroom will not notice anything?
Essentially, I'm trying to add another button to the Lightroom -- not just "Update DNG Preview," but "Update DNG preview where full-size is missing." Ideally, of course, we'd have "Update DNG Preview if obsolete," including obsolete as non-conforming to a given set of the desirable preview settings, such as its size.
In the very worst case, I'd have to program Mac GUI with AppleScript to find only the DNGs where the preview is not full-size via my Perl magic, then somehow select them all in the Lightroom and robo-click "Update DNG Preview and Metadata" for the selection -- but I'd really, really prefer to be able to do it from the command-line with the DNG converter itself. Possible?
DNG Converter making NEF image notably darker
Hello! I recently got a Nikon d5500, only to find that the Raw file type won't work with Lightroom 5 which is all I can afford right now. So I used the Adobe Digital converter to turn them into DNGs so I could edit them. I noticed though that the images became a step or two darker once converted. Am I using the Converter wrong? Is this normal? I've included an example of what it did. If I could get any help I'd appreciate it.
Adobe DNG Converter not working on Mac High Sierra
I'm trying to use Adobe DNG Converter on my Macbook Pro which is running High Sierra 10.13.6. The version of DNG Converter is 10.5.0.101. After installing and opening the app, I see something that looks like a small capsule on the screen. However, there's no images to upload. I've tried reinstalling the program several times but get the same result. No sure what I'm doing wrong. Please let me know what to do next.
DNG Profile Editor - does it work with High Sierra?
I have downloaded and installed the Adobe DNG Profile Editor, Version 1.0.0.47 beta
Two files get downloaded: DNG Profile Editor.app" and also "DNG Profile Editor.app.dSYM".
I am using an Apple iMac running High Sierra
The program seems to start up properly when I click on it.
When I click on File > Open DNG Image. ......the file opens. "file name... then M8 Digital Camera - White Balance: 4950/10"
If I select Tone Curve, the program works
If I select "Color Matrices" this is what happens:
I go to "Temperature" setting, and try to move any "slider".
I get an error message "The operation could not be completed."
I click OK.
I go back to the program window, and at the top of the screen for DNG Profile Editor" and then select "Quit DNG Profile Editor".
Sometimes the program will not quit. In that case I need to Force Quit.
Other times it closes.
If I close and try to re-open an image, or a different image, I get "DNG Profile Editor could not open the selected image. Note that the selected image must be a valid DNG color image".
